Personal injury
My personal injury practice is focused on maximizing financial compensation for the victims of serious accidents and injury. I will handle every aspect of your case from evaluation, investigation, preparation and management. I am experienced in personal injury cases involving car accidents, truck accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability, slip and falls, and dog bites.
Criminal law and traffic violations
In every criminal or traffic matter, I take a strategic approach to minimize your penalties or defeat charges in your case. I am experienced in all aspects of criminal investigations, courtroom proceedings, and administrative hearings in traffic cases. I have handled theft, burglary, sexual assault, misdemeanors and felonies. In traffic court, I represent clients who have been charged with speeding, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, moving violations, and serious traffic offenses.
Environmental law
From 2000 to 2005, I was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York and prosecuted oil spill cases under New York's Navigation Law (the Oil Spill Law). Under the Oil Spill Law, you are liable if you discharge or own property upon which the discharge of more than 2 gallons of petroleum occurred. If petroleum is discharged you may be held strictly liable for the cleanup and restoration of the property. Importantly, you may be subject to crippling penalties that the government can impose for every day the contamination goes unremediated. I have handled the prosecution of environmental and oil spill cases involving underground tanks that leak as well as individuals who overfill their gas tank at gas stations, convenience stores or on residential property.
Business and commercial law
Whether you are starting a new company or you are in need of legal advice regarding an existing business, I offer strategic counsel and advocacy to small businesses. I am experienced in counseling on contract formation so that you understand your full rights and responsibilities, as well as how your contracts should be drafted for ultimate protection. Family court matters
I have extensive experience in representing clients facing family court matters, including custody, visitation, orders for protection, domestic violence, and defense work in neglect petitions. As a result of my long-term dedication to family law matters I was appointed to, and continue to serve, on the Saratoga County Family Court Law Guardian Panel.
